Everybody, my name is Dalton Risner, you can call me Big D! I graduated in December of 2017 at Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies, received a minor in Leadership studies, and am currently exploring a coaching certificate degree. I am currently a part of the football team here at Kansas State, and have been blessed enough to be a four-year starter on the offensive line and a 3-year team captain.

I come from an extremely small town in Colorado, called Wiggins. The population is around 1,000, I had thirty-two kids in my graduating class, and the biggest news to hit Wiggins in awhile is the chicken strips at the local gas station! Coming from Wiggins, to play Division 1 football at Kansas State, was a dream come true.

Ever since I can remember, sports have been my passion in life, and as I further my career in football it becomes more apparent that football will end someday. Throughout my years in college I found a passion for impacting the lives of other people, putting smiles on the down faces of others, and utilizing the platform god gave me to inspire those around me. I recently started finding more and more ways to reach out to people, through working with special needs people, to kids with cancer, to even a recently new foundation called “Rise Up”. I am so excited about having this page to share stories, videos, and to hear all your feedback!

On behalf of the Rise Up Foundation I want to say thank you to everyone who follows my page and continues to support my mission! Due to the football season, there will not be as much activity as before, although posts will keep coming!

Making an Impact. There is nothing that brings me more joy than doing exactly that. Throughout my career at Kansas State I have found a passion in working with special Olympian’s like Mike. They think that they look up to me, but they forget how much i look up to them. Enjoy getting to know one of my best friends Mike Carpenter on this video of Rise Up!

Thank You

Kansas State University has helped shape me into who I am today. I am forever grateful for the opportunities and blessings I’ve been given in my time here at K-State. Between my teammates, the fans, and the city, this place has become my home away from home. I am beyond excited to see what my 5th and final year brings!

Thank You

When I stepped foot on campus here in Manhattan Kansas I had no idea what I was getting into. I was the Dalton Risner, six feet five three hundred pounds, big and strong, I couldn’t be beaten. Coming from a small town like Wiggins and playing 1A football, I was used to being the biggest, strongest, and being the big name everywhere I went. Oh boy was I wrong.
