Happy Monday and Happy New Year! Today is the first day of a new year and I am so excited for all of the things to come in 2018! 2017 was a great year for our family, we had lots of “firsts” as a family of 3 (4 including the pup). We had a lot of friends get married, we went on some awesome vacations and trips with friends and family, and it was just another year full of endless blessings.
Our family had a wonderful Christmas. We had a great time and loved watching Mason celebrate his 2nd Christmas, but the first one where he actually was able to open presents and play with them. He loved everything he got. Mason was a shepherd at the Christmas Eve service and it was priceless. He loved all of the Christmas songs and when we sang Happy Birthday to Jesus, Mason’s eyes got so big and he was looking around smiling. I think he thought everyone was signing to him. We were able to spend time with of our parents and siblings and it was a great time. It was all fun and games until the evening of Christmas when I got the dreaded stomach virus. I didn’t start it but within a matter of 3 days it hit just about everyone, except Mason (thank, God!). This silly virus cancelled our trip to Indiana and the aftermath had us all so weak and very tired. Hopefully we are all over this yucky bug.
I have a lot of big plans for 2018 around our house. My motto for this year is de-cluttering. I think my husband is over it already! It is amazing how much can be accumulated in just a few short years. I would not say our stuff is junk but our drawers are full, our closets are over-flowing with clothes and shoes, and our garage has things that we don’t need anymore. This year I will focus on de-cluttering and organizing our house.
I love setting goals at the beginning of the new year and I LOVE starting a new planner. I have been a goal setter ever since I can remember. I set goals each year that are personal, professional, health/fitness related, and also some financial goals. I work hard all year to meet those goals and always add new ones throughout the year. I hope you all had a fun and safe new years eve! Just a few years ago my husband and I were all about the NYE plans, going out with friends and watching the ball drop. My how things have changed. It took everything we had to make it to midnight last night but we did!
So here is to 2018, the year of de-clutting and making memories! Let’s get it done!
